Service Description

Being flexible enables one to comfortably remain in an increased range of motion for a period of time. In the absence of some level of flexibility, we run a higher risk of injury and muscle strain. With assisted stretching techniques and active intentional breathing, we teach the body how to do what we want it to do. Breathing is a big part of stretching. Consciously deep breathing during stretching helps to trigger our parasympathetic nervous system leading to relaxation, helps increase blood flow to our organs and stimulates the cerebral cortex which frees the mind allowing for mental clarity. By focusing your attention on breathing in and out each time you stretch, you will enhance this natural physiological action, which results in a less tense, more functional body. You cannot force muscles to relax and you cannot force them to stretch, it has to be done through consistent practice.
